Window Film Case Study: Saving the Family Dining Room 

Read how we were able to address Catherine’s problem and change the way her family viewed their home. We sat down with Catherine to recount her experience. 

The Problem 

Catherine: 

Background story, we had been in our house one summer. We have 3 long windows in our dining room. With the sun beaming thru to our dining room table, it was so hot that we didn’t want to sit at the table to eat, unless the blinds were closed; even then the heat was extreme. My 2-year-old grand-daughter would put her hand over both eyes, every time she sat at the table.

An issue Catherine and her husband were facing was too much sunlight in their dining room, to the point it was easier not to eat in the room! This meant a beautiful room in their home was not being used.

Catherine: 

We now sit at our table during the day, with the blinds up, enjoying the sun, and the view of the blue skys. The space is so much cooler and very comfortable. So comfortable, that I had forgotten how hot it used to get. Since we may see about 4 neighbors thru our dining room windows, I was very self-conscience every time I sat down to eat, that I would make sure the blinds were closed. The feeling is gone now, since during the day, the neighbors only see a mirror reflection. We tested this many times, by stepping onto our deck and locking into our window, it is truly a mirror.
